A few years back Eva and I and two good friends did a weeklong trip to explore the Grand canyon . We hiked 10 miles and 3000 feet down to Havasupi Falls and camped by the river for three days. Everything you packed in had to

Be packed out. It was beautiful and really, really hard! We did have a wonderful time but when it was over it took me a week to recover. Having fun is a lot of work.

Wink and Fred are in great shape and can still navigate uneven terrain. I think Fred could probably run circles around most of us because he takes really good care of himself. Admire anyone who can do that without complaining.

The ideal way to travel is when one is not too old and Newsday is paying the freight. And, yes, Budapest really is beautiful.
