St. John's still standing. Strudel might be a little off by now, but let me know if you want to meet after services some Sunday.

And, Bob, Judy and you should have been on hugmeister list. Outstanding practitioners. Thanks/fb

Never mind the hugging; tell me more about the strudel.

I see you as more of a “side hugger” kind of guy— reaching that middle ground of affection and distance all in one. I can attest to the pinch on the cheek and sometimes kiss on the cheek. Hugs, Dad. Love you.

Grand essay. Hugs to you. And Wink. And Gwen, of course.

Hugging is far less dangerous for baseball players than the ritual of group jumping up and down after a victory. Ask Edwin Díaz, who missed a whole season after messing up his leg in one of those celebrations. A gentle hug is safer.

I have no problem with hugs, hug away! Never happened to me, but it must be SO awkward when encountering a non-hugger and they wave you off! I hope I go to my grave never having had that experience. lol

At least hugging is not as much a cliche as the high five or the fist bump. And, as far as athletes go, the hugging beats what football players often do--smashing mates helmet-to-helmet. At least with a hug, they would remember they did it.

It's a favorite thing of mine for top-of-my-list favorite people I love. My circle is small, so my quick embrace means more to me than one from an acquaintance who, when I stick out my hand, pulls me in and says, "Oh, I'm a hugger!" Thanks for the mention, Fred. I'm honored. And I hope the Mets win for you.

Bunnells were right up there, too, Jim. Of course, a hug from Charlie brought its risks.
