John -- This is life-changing. When I think of you from now on it will not be as the plucky Texas football star but a guy on a cushmas scooter bringing good news and bad to the public. And in a yellow helmet, yes.
I try hard to like and listen new music but Dad Rock still gives me comfort. Next Saturday Eva and I will be rocking with generations of dad's to Ringo Star and his All Star band. As long as your listening and loving music you are alive!
Here's a reference I identified with: Telegrams. For two weeks each summer of my high school years, I replaced the local telegram-delivery guy while he was on vacation. Rode a cushman scooter, wore a yellow helmet. People who knew I had the job kept asking me if I delivered any singing telegrams. No. Better to just listen to Fats Domino.
Carole -- ...and Jocko and Danny Stiles and Cousin Brucie and on and on. Thanks/fb
Eugene Debs and Ruth Etting. Some smorgasbord! Thanks, Hal.
Saw James Taylor at Jones Beach amphitheatre Sat nite, Jim. Old guy still gets it done. Enjoy Ringo, another geriatric success story.

The Way We Were...good song, terrific political movie.
You mean Foo Fighters?
Head streaming! Could be big!
Two days ago? How about last night...or this morning?
Gwen -- "Dad Rock" is a thing, according to the NYT. Must be true.
Or John Denver.
I seem to have come 10 years after you. But WEVD played Ruth Etting. Quite the AM musical smorgasbord.

Keep um coming Fred!
Singing along to your fabulous story! Enjoy the holiday weekend😎
Thanks, Lena. Here's "One Summer Night" by the Danleers -- sweet even if it's a late summer night.

Memories, like the corners of my mind. Misty Waters make me think of the way we were. Should we could we?
I credit my great musical taste to my parents! :)
