Yo, Bob. Charm of aggravated animals making their discomfort known eludes me, too, but there is a lot about public approval I don't understand. Hoping Mets make rest of season more fun than a rodeo.
I lived in Texas, New Mexico and California as a child. Think I went to one rodeo. Pretty boring. Barrel racing!?!?
Hearing aids: I told you it was going to be complicated. Some good, some bad, but better than those big horns that old guys used to use ages ago. The little things in your ears are not conspicuous, especially since there hardly is a person in existence these days who doesn't have something in his or her ears.
No interest at all in bull riding! But the Beatles, sigh! Saw them at Forest Hills , which for some reason is never mentioned and again at Shea Stadium ..Peter pan collar and all!
I share wholeheartedly your Oy rating for the rodeo. I’ve only ever attended one, and I was feeling so sick that I left partway through and sat in the car, waiting for my family to finish watching the rest of it. Its charm eluded me entirely. It was my first—and definitely my last—rodeo.
My father took me to the rodeo in the old MSG (1925-68). I was a four-year-old kid from Brooklyn and horses and the bulls and the cowboys and clowns thrilled me.
So, the Beatles invaded in the early 60’s, and stepped on my budding music career, (drummer in a bar band).
Our “break song” was that timeless classic “Alley Oop”
Hearing aids… I’m 81, been losing my hearing at a slo rate for twenty years or so….my boss of 56 years “encourages” me daily to spend the big bucks and come back to the audio world… it just bugs me
Sue -- The Mavericks will be back at Barclays. Plan now.
Thanks, Terry.
Lew -- Don't try. Please.
Sometimes, I think nostalgically of the big horns, John
Susan -- Beatles v. Bulls. No contest.

Beatles, bulls, Brooklyn, Bruning...There's something going on here but I can't put my finger on it.
More good true-life stuff from Bruning.

Very enjoyable, both the article and the museum exhibit. Sorry I missed the bull riding, not really! lol
Always good for a laugh. Thanks ❤️

I may have been in the next seat -- chubby kid eating another hot dog.
