Kid's lucky I didn't get out and offer my best Frankie Lymon imitation. Would have sent the gang running, for sure.

An hour of doo-wop would straighten him out. Thanks, John

WOW! scary times! Glad it didn't escalate! We didn't know about Frankie Lymon's sad demise. Let's plan a dinner together soon, but we'll make it early before the hoodlums are prowling! xo

No fear -- especially when food is involved. Thanks, Sue and Stan

I wonder if it's a sign of (advaced) maturity that often makes me think there are more hoodlums running around loose than there used to be. Likely, though, I merely was a naive youth and wasn't paying enough attention. Hopefully that threatening fellow will wise up at some point (and maybe pay atteniton to old-fashioned lyrics.) As John Prine sang, though, "Some humans ain't human. Some people ain't kind." (Don't worry, I won't try to sing....)

When situations turn and threats become real you take actions that normally would be out of character. Thinking back on events in my life sometimes luck was with me other times not so much. You just telling this story, referencing A Clockwork Orange, and the sad ending of Frankie Lymon caused me again to think. “ You just don’t know”. I’m glad you were lucky that night Fred. Let’s all just keep trying to be good.

After the doo-wop lede, I certainly didn’t see that nasty experience coming. Oy! I’m sorry that you and Wink went through that.
