Thanks for note. No intention of putting one candidate at disadvantage – not purpose of column. Entirely agree that age and appearance are not best indicators of leadership qualities. Record of achievement and vision count most. We’re on same page, I think. Cheers and thanks again for reading. /fb

It's a touchy subject, this aging, which might turn out to make the difference in an election that imperils our democracy, but those of us who have observed your graceful progress toward octogenarianville can validate the truth in your humorous account of the journey.
I’m with you Fred. A simple happy life with minimal drama where my decisions do not impact the trajectory of the planet is more than fine with me. And two Mets hats are way better than no Mets hats. We need to protect our hairless domes from frying. 😜

A cheer for old Mizzou, John, and Sylvia Carter (and you, too).

Thanks, Mary Ellen. At my age, even smiling sometimes requires a nap. Cheers/fb
Mets lost today. My fault: Only one hat. Thanks, Jim
If two-hat trend takes off, does that make me an influencer? Tay-Tay, watch out!
Terry -- There are days when I'd like someone to come off the bench. Remain alert
If you have change of heart, Lena, count on my vote.
Plenty of company -- and crowd growing!
Big sleep?
2 hats are better than one, Dad!

Laughing all the way, Bill -- between panic attacks.

Have I told you lately how much I enjoy your column? Always funny because they ring true! 84!!! I wouldn't mind being you when I grow up :)

Can so relate! How many times have I talked on my cell, only to look for it! So pleased I have company!
